I trust everyone had a safe and “spooky” Halloween this year. In Gretna over the past few years we have been fortunate to have had very little trouble attributed to Halloween. The kids really seem to enjoy this event and with many local churches doing the “trunk or treat” thing, we have quite a few goblins and witches in Town now every year .

The Town of Gretna offers FREE, that’s right, FREE curbside pickup of leaves at your home. The Town has been doing this for many years now so I thought that since we are always having people come and go in town that a reminder of this service might be in order. Please do not mix the leaves in with sticks, branches and brush as this greatly hinders our ability to efficiently pick up the leaves. The sticks will clog up the vacuum hose on the truck and it takes quite a while to disassemble it all, clear the blockage, and get back to work. So please use a leaf only pile for leaves and a brush only pile for brush. We can move much faster that way. Simply call Town Hall at 656 – 6572 to schedule your next pickup.
